RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is an XML-based format for content distribution over the internet. This technology allows you to easily stay informed by retrieving the latest content from the sites you are interested in without having to visit each site individually.
Feed Reader or News Aggregator software allow you to grab the RSS feeds from various sites and display them for you to read and use. There are a variety of RSS Readers available for different platforms. Some popular feed readers include FeedDemon (Windows) and NewsFire (Mac OS X). There are also a number of web-based feed readers available such as Bloglines and Google Reader.
